teishokuya of tokyo

TOT/Teishokuya of Tokyo
345 E 2nd St
Los Angeles, CA 90012

Before my 22nd birthday, I went to LA to do some shopping at Wasteland and Jet Rag and ate delicious, oh so delicious Japanese food at this little place in Little Tokyo called Teishokuya of Tokyo (or in short, TOT). One of my good friends introduced me to this little joint since her boyfriend works at a sneaker shop across the street. I'm not much of a miso soup person but the miso soup was good. As an entree, I ordered a Sauce Katsu bowl (the first photo) and oh my goodness, it is SOOO good! I rarely, if ever, get chicken katsu, but oh man the sauce on the chicken katsu was AMAZING! The other entrees were bento boxes with spicy chicken, tempura, gyoza, and California rolls. The spicy chicken was really good too. AHH now I'm hungry, hahaha.

Some of you may know that I started school this week and for one thing, I can tell you that this semester is going to be one hectic semester. Not sure how often I can blog (accounting, calculus, information systems, and philosophy all require me to do homework every single week and it's not even work you can half-ass. My homework consists of balancing financial statements, derivatives, and extremely meticulous power points and spreadsheets that even a slight differentiation in color will get you docked 5 points) but I'll try my best!

spring 2010

First day of school tomorrow. My weekly school schedule:

Monday/Wednesday:
8:00-9:15 Accounting
3:30-4:45 Calculus Lecture
5:30-6:45 Philosophy

Tuesday:
5:30-6:20 Calculus Seminar

Online course: Information systems

I was going to throw in a statistics class, but I highly doubt it; accounting, calculus, AND statistics? No sir, that's a lot of numbers in one semester.

girly girl

valentino SS10, www.style.com

I have this soft spot for girly, flow-y,silky, and pastel colored dresses. The entire Spring/Summer collection from Valentino is exactly that and it makes me wish sometimes for spring to come. More like springtime in Central Park kind of springtime. Hehehe. If you know me at all, you would know that I prefer colder climates and neutral color wardrobe (okay an all black wardrobe haha) than the girly girl stuff but sometimes I tend to lean towards the lighter end of the spectrum. Just sometimes.

cham sut gol

Cham Sut Gol
9252 Garden Grove Blvd
Garden Grove, CA 92842

If one thing is for certain, Cham Sut Gol in Garden Grove is way tastier than Ma Dang Sae. You can read about the review HERE for Ma Dang Sae. The only downside about eating at this restaurant is the price. I believe it's $17.99 a person which can definitely add up if you throw in some Hite Beer and soda. Like always, I believe that good quality usually comes with a price! Just like Ma Dang Sae, they serve a whole lot of side dishes from Kimchi and not quite sure what the rest are (I haven't quite asked, but I will next time) and they served briskets, and spicy pork, and a marinated meat that was quite tasty. As far as the taste, CSG wins. The quality of the meat is a million times better than Ma Dang Sae (sure I can be exaggerating but I felt as if the meat at MDS tasted like bacon which I do love but I can't eat plate after plate of it). Also! There are ice cream cones and unlimited ice cream and not like the small cup of ice cream MDS serves with a Baskin Robbin sample spoon. Oh yea! By the way, did I mention that MDS was closed due to vermin infestation (TWICE!)? Thanks, but CSG takes the lead especially if I can sleep at night knowing for sure I did not I eat a rat's tail (kidding!).

heart

may 2005

The BF and I will be celebrating our 7th year anniversary pretty soon. We're going to have a picnic brunch on our actual anniversary and have dinner at Napa Rose in Disneyland the following day. Apparently, Napa Rose is closed for a convention on our actual anniversary so I had to make reservations for the next day. Anyway, I've heard so many amazing reviews for the restaurant, we are both so eager to see what it has in store for us (and it doesn't hurt that my cousin and his GF are frequent diners there and know pretty much all the chefs there!)!

Anyway, I came across this photo earlier today (along with other polaroids via Poladroid!). This pretty much sums up our relationship! Someone asked me through my formspring if I could post more of my lovely BF. Expect more!

flower power

vintage top, h&m trend pant, target shoes, f21 belt

My obsession with crazy harem pants continues. This isn’t even the last of it. My mom bought me a baby pink proenza schouler harem pants from Nordstrom Rack for $50! Okay maybe the latter isn’t as crazy as these H&M Trend pants nor the Urban Renewal leopard pants I wore in the previous posts. I think I’m done with crazy pants haha.

And if you’re wondering why I’m holding a leash, I was walking my dog. Apparently he’s too shy for the camera!

twentyTWO

La Creperie
4911 East 2nd St
Long Beach, CA 90803

For my 22nd birthday I:

  • Had lunch at La Creperie with my BF
  • Picked up a cupcake at Frosted Cupcakery
  • Had KBBQ with friends at Cham Sut Gol (review coming soon!)

Had a very low key birthday this year (after spending a wonderful 21st in New York). Just wanted to spend it with good friends and family.

Today, my mom and I went to Nordstrom Rack where she bought me a baby pink Proenza Schouler harem pants for $50 as a birthday gift (as well as three dresses at H&M ... all by the way were on sale for $20). The original price was $550 so I really scored with that one. Can't wait to wear it!

    leopard

h&m cardigan, vintage sweater, urban renewal harem pants, target shoes, f21 bag

I have this reputation of buying the most horrific piece of clothing on the face of this planet. Everyone (coworkers, even my BF) question my purchases but I don’t really care. As far as these pants, my BF pretty much looked like he was going to barf when I found these lovely leopard harem pants at UO for $9.99. I guess I just gravitate towards unusual clothing.

Tomorrow is my birthday! So, today I was in LA shopping and eating hoping to find a birthday outfit but I failed. Oh well. I came up with some decent purchases that are best suited for everyday wear. And I discovered that I prefer Wasteland over Buffalo Exchange, ANY DAY :)

OH! and I started a formspring awhile ago! Ask me anything!

    happy new year!

Let's get this blog on the right foot for the new year! Ask me anything, from what you'd like to see more, where I like to eat, whatever comes to your mind or anything to help me provide you quality posts for you to indulge in! This year, one of my resolutions is to post often so this will help me improve my blogging etiquette.

So as we welcome 2010 with open arms, I'd like to thank all of you for having me be a part of your life through my words and photographs! I hope I've inspired you one way or another and that I continue to do so as we begin this new year!

    Happy New Year! Be safe!
