birthday dress?

credit: net-a-porter.com

My dream birthday dress by Alexander Wang. If it's not obvious, it's only a DREAM dress. I can't afford a $650 dress when I just got broke from all of my Christmas shopping. Hahaha. Must look for other alternatives that fits my budget range. I don't know maybe $20? HAHAHA. As usual, this time of year is always so expensive. I still have an anniversary present for the BF I have to look for. Oh the holidays!

ma dang sae

Ma Dang Sae
21004 Pioneer Blvd
Lakewood, CA 90715

Although I was craving Thai food one day, the BF was craving KBBQ so we wanted to try something new (at least I did). The BF has been to Ma Dang Sae with his coworkers awhile ago and one of our friends also has been there so we decided for me to try it out. Ma Dang Sa is an "all you can eat" KBBQ that is relatively cheap. For $9.99 a person, you get all sorts of side dishes and a huge bottomless plate of brisket (you can also request for pork belly which we did). For dessert, they give you a small cup of ice cream served with a Baskin Robbins spoon (which seems a bit sketchy to me might I add haha). All in all, it was an OKAY experience. I've tried better since the meat was extremely bland and I drenched my meat in sesame oil and chili garlic sauce. I highly recommend this place if you want a lot of food for cheap.

disneyland #1

disneyland, november 2009

The BF and I try to make it to Disneyland once a week (yay for annual passes!) but this unexpected spurt of rain is getting in our way. I really want to go before Christmas though. I'm hoping later on today we'll go if the rain isn't so bad!

ps
I decided to make a label for Disneyland since I go there often. Whoo hoo I LOVE Disneyland!

old me, new me

old me, 2007

2009 is coming to an end in about 3 weeks. Time to make new resolutions that I barely keep. To tell you the truth, I can't even recall what my resolutions were for this year. More than likely, I did not go through with it. Hopefully, 2010 will be a different story.

1. Eat healthy (drink lots of water!)
2. Exercise
3. Do well in school
4. Save money, shop wisely, then travel the world
5. Clean my room every week
6. Spend time with old friends

cabo san lucas, april 2009

On a different note, traveling is something that I love and enjoy (very costly to my bank account though haha). New year, new places. Europe is #1 on my list this year as far as traveling (and let me tell you, its a headache trying to find decent prices for flights and hotels). People often ask how do I finance my travels. I only work for clothes and traveling (the only bills I pay are phone bills) and I usually have to work A LOT in order to finance my travels but its all worth it in the end. And it helps a lot to travel during the "off season".

porto's bakery

Porto's Bakery
315 North Brand Blvd.
Glendale, CA 91203

Tried Porto's for the first time yesterday after a friend highly suggested it. Talk about tasty and CHEAP. Altogether, the BF and I spent about $26 on two sandwiches, four potato balls, a slice of oreo cheesecake, a slice of tres leche cheesecake, a slice of strawberry shortcake, croquettes .... and the list goes on practically. And I like the whole cafeteria-ish vibe they have going on in there. Reminded me of a cruise for some reason. Anyway, if you are ever in the Glendale area, definitely swing by! They also have amazing ratings on Yelp.com so check before hand for other recommendations!

new york city

new york city, january 2009

My BF showed me this quote that he got from a friend:

"There are roughly three New Yorks. There is, first, the New York of the man or woman who was born there, who takes the city for granted and accepts its size, its turbulence as natural and inevitable. Second, there is the New York of the commuter--the city that is devoured by locusts each day and spat out each night. Third, there is New York of the person who was born somewhere else and came to New York in quest of something. Of these trembling cities the greatest is the last--the city of final destination, the city that is a goal. It is this third city that accounts for New York’s high strung disposition, its poetical deportment, its dedication to the arts, and its incomparable achievements. Commuters give the city its tidal restlessness, natives give it solidity and continuity, but the settlers give it passion." -E.B. White

I've loved San Francisco, I've loved Hawaii, I've loved Boracay, that is until I landed in JFK. I knew exactly why I've wanted to go here for so long. The vibe, the people, the city, everything about it makes my heart race like no other city has. The skyscrapers, the food, the subways, the walking, the fashion, Central Park, Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State, Rockefeller Center. No other city compares. The BF and I have been talking about moving there. In 2011 to be exact. I seriously can not wait for our adventure.

first day off in weeks

curry, november 2009

Life has slowed down since Sunday which I'm grateful for. That being said, today was my second day off in awhile and I spent the day on the couch with the BF watching Law&Order: SVU and playing with this baby boy. For tomorrow, we made plans to have brunch in Glendale and do some shopping at the Americana and maybe Disneyland. I'm definitely excited after so much work we've done in the last month.
