save me

Currently I'm doing some last minute studying. More like procrastinating since my final is tomorrow morning and I barely started studying! And although I should be studying, I'm here taking pictures on photobooth. Crap!

since i don't have an outfit post . .

I'd like to share with you my favorite dress of all time. This mustard h&m dress that I bought last year is amazing. I wore it to my friends, Cyril and Mike's wedding back in May and I'm anxious to wear it again. Hehehe

It's that time of year again where I browse classes after classes hoping to put together a schedule that flows. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case this semester.

Regardless whether or not my schedule is whack or not, all the classes I'm taking this semester all pertain to my Fashion Merchandising major (with the exception of my French class). I'm getting a semester closer to graduation!

Stopped by the Obey sale today, but a 4-5 hour wait convinced me not to step foot out of the car as we drove by. Oh wells. Yesterday was a more exciting day. My friends and I went to the LA convention center for the Skidazzle event. Browsed around till I found the board I wanted (a snowboard to be exact!). So, we're all coming back tomorrow to purchase our boards and now I'm beyond excited for snowboarding season.

UPDATE:So I ended up going back to Santa Ana for the OBEY sale. A friend of mine told us that there was no line so I figured, heck why not. So we headed out over there and waited for 5 minutes in line. Once we were inside, it was COMPLETE madness. People throwing clothes here and there. The men's section had a lot more than women's and I only ended up buying this mustard jacket that I wanted from Urban Outfitters quite awhile ago. I'm going to wear it to Skidazzle tomorrow so expect to see me wearing it. I also got this purple shirt (I'm not a graphic tee shirt kind of gal but it was cute) and they were also giving out free shirts which was cool so I grabbed myself one. Hehehe.

I ventured out to the streets of Los Angeles today (with an emphasis on Chinatown and Olvera Street) with my boyfriend and my brother. Went to the Central Plaza in an attempt to look for some umbrellas, but I didn't find one that suited me. Oh wells. Then we headed off for lunch and we went to some restaurant called "Full House" or something along that lines. Had pork, chicken and mongolian beef. Then we headed off to Olvera Street for churros and we originally had planned a trip to Little Tokyo, but I was beyond exhausted so we're planning on heading over there and Hollywood and Highland on sunday. That's all. Haha

ps
While we were roaming the streets of Chinatown, we noticed cables running on the floor and we assumed they were filming. So we went to this alleyway-ish area, where they were shooting a scene for CSI:NY. It was pretty interesting, but everyone else didn't want to be in it (and I thought it would be fun!) cause you could if you wanted to. Next time.

lazy tuesday

(my backyard, november 2007)

Today is the start of my Thanksgiving break. Nothing new since I only go to school Tuesday and Thursday. Right now I'm sitting on my bed and have been on my Macbook for two hours straight doing completely nothing but reading blogs (and catching up with my blog!). No outfit post today since I knocked out after classes today (due to the fact that I slept at 3 in the morning working on a paper that was due today and had to wake up at 7 to finish it up. Yes, yes I am THEE Queen of Procrastination) and I didn't wake up till 5:30. And because of daylight savings time, there's not a substantial amount of light for me to use at 5:30 in evening. Anyway, enough of that.

I have been contemplating whether or not to attend the Santa Monica H&M grand opening tomorrow. The first 200 customers get gift cards that are worth between $10-$300. After thorough analysis, the CONS definitely outweighed the PROS after I sorted it through. I checked out the weather widget on my iPhone and I noticed that today, tomorrow, and on Thanksgiving it was supposed to rain. Now, I certainly do not want to wait in line in the rain for hours (since we would probably have to go 5 in the morning to be guaranteed a gift card). And on top of that, the 405 North is jam-packed with cars (LA morning commute) and I certainly do not want to sit through traffic. I guess after all, the gift cards aren't really worth it. I mean I don't even know if I'm getting the $300 gift card. It's all chance. With my luck, I'll probably end up with $10 after going through all that. I passssss.

And I'm excited for Black Friday. I'm planning to do some shopping at the Americana in Glendale (H&M and Urban Outfitters). At H&M, I've been eyeing two dresses, a cardigan, and some pants and at Urban, geez I have a whole wishlist.

Definitely tomorrow I'll do an outfit post- PROMISE !

today

I spent today at the Getty Villa (which is absolutely amazing) then headed off to Santa Monica Pier to hang out since it was on the way home. Didn't really take a good shot of my outfit cause it was pretty much boring.

Scored! Chinese Laundry "Top" Over the Knee Boots in black leather for $44 at Loehmann's. Seriously, I've never loved a pair of boots the way I loved these. I've been searching all over the internet for them and now they are in my hands.

Note: This isn't the "Top" version, but the "Turbo" version (because of the wedge heel) but almost the same.

AHHHH I have a headache and I am sick and sore. Well I apologize for not blogging for awhile. Been so busy catching up with school, cleaning/redecorating my room, preparing a yard sale, prayers for my Dad and so and so forth. Things just has been hectic! Okay well as you all may already know, we have elected a new President. It's remarkable that I get to see a "colored" candidate to win presidency. It's quite historical.

I was ecstatic when I found this coat on sale for $50. Last week I went to h&m in South Coast Plaza and it was regular priced ($99.90) and then I went to the Americana in Glendale and it was on sale. Bought a few other items as well. Back to the coat, I love the structure of it and the color is quite beautiful plaid-wise. Wore this ensemble to school today. People looked at me like I was an idiot (keep in mind I attend a university in Southern California where students predominantly are still clad with UGG boots with summer dresses, denim jeans, flip flops and rainbow slippers, sweats . . . you know, the laid back, beach bum style). OH WELLS!

On a lighter not, I think I'm a bit excited for Stylista on Wednesday!

food

YAY my first food post. I was a bit too excited to write this one that I didn't realize that my memory card was still in the printer by the time I got into the car, so I had to rely on my iPhone, so excuse me for the blurry pictures.

Back Home in Lahaina

Our appetizer was Hawaiian Nachos. Instead of tortilla chips, they use wontons.

Our meal. I got a combination platter with Lahaina Fried Chicken and Kalbi Short Ribs (the first picture)

My boyfriend and my brother got the following (can't recall what they got but as soon as I do I'll edit the post)

For dessert we had a Jello Cheesecake and Malasabas. They were alright.

While I had a coke, they had a Japanese Iced Coffee. They give you a glass with a side of "sugar water". I guess you're suppose to mix it and wa-la! . . . Japanese Iced Coffee

Overall, the food was OKAY. Not something I'd be craving for awhile. I was really "hyped" up for this since I've haven't been there in such a long time, but I was a bit disappointed (but not entirely!). Whew! That was a very long post. Till next time!

This week my mom decided to remodeled the living room. It looks orange to me but it's suppose to be peach. I guess during the day it's peach?

In a few minutes, I'm going to do my first FOOD post. Yes my very first food post. I'm a bit excited because I just LOVE food but at the moment, I'm a bit pooped and full from all the food we got today. Maybe i'll post in a few hours.

my heart smiled . . .

Not necessarily. While drowning myself into my linguistics homework during this HOT HOT HOT day, I decided to check the weather app on my iPhone and my heart smiled with I noticed that tomorrow is going to be 74 degrees (earlier we were at the 90's!)! Not as cold as I wanted it to be and maybe not as cold to wear coats and scarves and tights, but a lot cooler than what hot summer Southern California permits us.
Time to go through my wardrobe with excitement!

The last few weeks has been difficult for me but nonetheless, I guess I managed to pull a rather decent outfit for church today. Well anyway, I bought this skirt last month and I thought I was going to have a difficult time putting an outfit together, but I guess today it worked out.

i love you dad

I lost my dear father yesterday and I miss him so much. I was unaware that the kiss I gave him on Sunday at the airport as he journeys off to his favorite country (the Philippines) would be my last.

I love you Daddy, and I truly do miss you. Rest in peace okay? Come by and visit.

Or let me know what I should more on the this blog. Hey I'm kind of new to this you know and a little help to make it better would be greatly appreciated. With that being said, if I am able to accumulate a lot of questions maybe I'll do a little FAQ post. Thanks readers!

travels

Since I did not have a blogspot for the majority of my life, I could not post any of my travel photos. I've been traveling since I was 3. Not necessarily traveling since I've only gone to one place numerous (and I mean NUMEROUS) times; the Philippines. I've been going back and forth there for most of my travel excursions. In the past few years though, I was given the opportunity to go to places I've never been to. So, I present to you, most of my treasured travel photos (and more to come as well).

wish list

I've noticed lately that my clothing choices has been leaning a bit towards versatility than rather bright clothes that you can realized after the second time, "she's worn that piece already." With versatile pieces, you can wear the same item, over and over and yet it's still so effortless and classic it's worth the buy. Hey, that's versatility for you right? That's why I applaud American Apparel. Currently lusting over a few items from there.

My dear boyfriend asked me where I wanted to go first this semester.

San Francisco:

or

Hawaii:

I've been to both places twice already (hawaii in the last two years and san francisco just recently and when I went when I was a kid) BUT I decided to go to hawaii first! We have to see if it's going to go through since my lovely boyfriend has blackout from October to January. I'm praying for that trip though!

The trip to hawaii would be a very needed vacation for my boyfriend. He's such hardworking guy!

school

Oh dear. School starts this Tuesday and I am surprisingly a bit excited for it. Maybe it's because I actually have an opportunity to dress up (I have not been in the mood to throw something on creative when I was going to be home the whole day- I think I'll stick to my pjs). I am so ready to post up my outfits when next week rolls around. PLUS, autumn is around the corner and I am a bit tired of wearing shorts and dresses. I'm all for an effortless look, but sheesh, I can't really come up with stylish outfits for the summer. All of my "effortless" looks turn out to be a look that I wasn't really looking for. Oh wells, I think I'm just too excited for autumn, so YAY!

See you all on Tuesday, or maybe earlier than that if i plan on not being the lazy bum that I am for the past few months.

My beloved sk3 broke down on me a month ago and I was pretty much phone-less for a month and chose to be phone-less for a month. I mean, I am not too fond of T-Mobile's network (very unreliable; I can not get service for anything!) so I figured that when my contract ends (March 2009) I'll switch to AT&T and get an iphone. So, in the meantime I'll buy a cheap phone so I can save for an iphone. SO, I am now using a magenta Motorola Razr. Very boring (the most I can do is play with my ringtones) compare to the sk3, but hey, it's the phone i'll have just for the meantime. Just for the meantime.
