least inspiring

UO blazer, f21 shirt, zara pants, and h&m shoes

Summer is not fun. Wardrobe-wise, I have a difficult time pulling together an outfit suitable for hot weather. Today wasn’t HOT though but I’m definitely having a difficult time. To top it off, my room is a mess (getting prepared to remodel my room), so my clothes are all over the darn world.

On a more serious note (well I think I was serious to begin with), today is my Dad's birthday. We spent it having dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. Good stuff, except I wanted to grab a cocktail BUT I forgot my wallet at home. What a bummer.

It was great seeing you again San Francisco. I've missed you.

Ike's Place

Drove up to San Francisco and grabbed a sandwich after yelping some restaurants. Delicious I might add! Anyway, did a few shopping there, shoes from H&M to be exact (black laced up booties, gray strappy platform heels, and black laced up wedges). Ate some more (what else is new). Life is pretty good.

chloe, ready-to-wear spring 2009

High waisted trousers, blazers with exaggerated and detailed lapels, nude, pale pink, and bows. Chloe, you can never do wrong. As a matter of fact, I bought a pair of satin khaki high waisted trousers from Zara in San Francisco today. And I also bought an extremely huge khaki (more like beige) bow headband from Urban Outfitters. Excited much?

i love you

18th birthday, january 2006

It's been nine months see you've been gone and I've missed you more and more each day Dad. But do know that I've gotten better, we all have. I just think of you as if you're still here for comfort and although you're not physically here, I just want you to know that I love you.

Happy Father's Day

a break from it all

disneyland, june 2009

This weekend is the busiest weekend thus far. I mean I LOOOOVE my job and it's just a bit overwhelming since I've been out of work for a year. But I'm loving my job nonetheless and since dress code is pretty conservative at work, the number of outfit posts have dwindled but that's okay. I try to make it up with fashion inspirations, photography, food- you name it. But with all that aside, I have responded to a comments just awhile ago! Let me know if I've skipped any or haven't answered any thing. I've also visited a number of blogs! Let me know if you would like me to add you to my blogroll and I will be more than happy!

Rest assured though, Tuesday will come with millions of posts of a variety of things. I have plans for my blog and we'll see how that works out! I'm off till Friday so I have time to brainstorm-it out!

PS
I had a very intellectual (okay I lied) conversation with my coworker. Apparently three people at my work attend the college I go to and we ALL happen to be fashion majors. Hahaha how convenient is that? Well anyway, we were talking about how we are all leaning towards merchandising since designing is pretty darn difficult. I mean I am creative and all, but I draw inspiration from some source and what if someone deems my designs as an imitation of another. You know what I mean? I don't want to design something and it turns out to be the exact copy of another. I've watched millions of Project Runway episodes (and I just saw the new one- Fashion Show I think it's called) and designing takes a lot of creativity. And with that, designing has been long gone from what I wanted to pursue in life (actually it really never was something I wanted to pursue). I'm definitely leaning towards fashion journalism and working for a publication and/or owning my own boutique in New York City (because face it, IT IS the Fashion Capitol of the World- or at least in my opinion).

it's been awhile

zara shirt, h&m tank top, vintage leather skirt, target shoes, and f21 sunglasses

And I’m retiring my shoes today. I wear them too much and it’s time for me to venture out to find new black shoes to complement my outfits. To tell you the truth, I’m just getting tired of them (not really). I think I just need variety. Anyway, sorry for the lack of updates! I’ve been busy with work and all and during my days off I like to lounge around in my pajamas and eat in the comfort of my own home.

OH! and I found this amazing high waisted leather (pleather!) skirt at my favorite thrift store two weeks ago. I went there two days ago and found even MORE amazing vintage items.

in her bag

  • f21 sunglasses
  • minnie mouse ears from Disneyland
  • H&M work tag
  • f21 rose compact mirror
  • blue highlighter- not sure for what hahaha
  • peek-a-pooh pencil case- what my boyfriend surprised me during our occasional ramen dates
  • car and house keys
  • bath&body cucumber melon hand sanitizer
  • extra lens for my DSLR
  • bath&body moonlight path lotion- favorite scent!
  • iPhone & iPod- I can not go anywhere without my iPhone, I use the iPod to watch movies during my break
  • Disneyland Annual Pass and Fast Passes, Top of the Rock card, MetroCard from NYC, Urban Outfitters discount cards, and Hotel Union Square business card from SF
  • Roll on sunscreen
  • FOUR Softlips Chapsticks- Don't know why I have so much (two vanilla, one pearl tinted, and one tickled pink tinted)
  • Makeup bag
  • Wallet

While at Disneyland, my boyfriend commented me on how I needed to clean out my bag since I spent a good 20 minutes looking for sunscreen. As a result of my frustrations of being out in the sun and needing to reapply sunscreen and finding my sunscreen in the most obvious places of all- in a zipper, I pulled out a few contents out of my bag today for all to see as well as some needed cleaning.

    cute factor

    nast magazine

It's been years since I've worn a denim jacket. I used to own a million of them and worn them constantly in high school. But times have change and now denim jackets have evolved to something cuter and a bit fashionable than what it used to be (and definitely something I want to add to my forever-growing closet of mine). I just hope that if I do buy one, it's a timeless piece that I can wear over and over again. I'm actually in love with that denim jacket posted above in particular. Half denim jacket, half blazer, can't get any better than that.

And I will definitely answer blog comments either tomorrow or on Tuesday. Working this weekend really worked me out. I am exhausted and sore (hey it's been awhile since I've worked or have done anything physical such as working out- need to work on that!). OH! and hopefully I'll have a post tomorrow.

To my readers (both old and new!)- thanks for the sweet comments!

    hiatus again

last sewing project (vintage reconstruction), 2007

This weekend is going to be super busy so I apologize in advance for any lack of updates. I'm working all weekend, remodeling my room (which is unpredictable since California's gloomy weather does not permit me to paint), and sewing (!). I have a couple of dresses in mind in which I'm going to make so that I can wear for my bf's birthday next month. So excited. I'll be going to the fabric store tomorrow to purchase fabric (black and cream- like always). Wish me luck as I dust my Hello Kitty sewing machine cause it has been awhile since I've sewn anything but the occasional hemming and fixing.

The photo above is of a vintage reconstruction dress that I did awhile back (okay a long time ago!). It was an awful vintage dress in which I was drawn to it's simplistic pattern.

    dree hemingway and becka diamond

    altamira

Love love love both girls' outifts. From Dree's blazer to Becka's leather jacket. But I was specifically drawn to Becka's sunglasses. I own a similar pair myself from Urban Outfitters with a "snakeskin print" that everyone seems to have but I'm specifically drawn to Becka's minimalist one. So I surfed the web in hopes of finding a similar pair that will not burn a hole in my wallet and found a similar pair in 5 seconds (haha). For $5.80 I'm definitely going to buy myself a couple pairs since I tend to break my sunglasses easily:

I know I know, I’ve been wearing my leather pants a bit too much. Can’t help it, they are super comfy! With all that aside, I bought my wonderful vintage blouse at a thrift store for $2. I think the color is amazing!

    interior design

    adorevintage forum

A room that I've always had on my wishlist (or at least how I want to design my room) since December 14, 2007. Haha, but I prefer a darker shade like this:

    Ralph Lauren Paint- Vintage Masters

My boyfriend said I should paint my room pink and said that teal was too dark for me and pink was more my color. Pink Chiffon in Ralph Lauren paint it is!

    a girl needs to eat

    kogi bbq-to-go, june 2009

So, my bf and I wanted to see what the "hype" is about with the Kogi BBQ tacos (a fusion between tacos and Korean BBQ I guess). I twittered them and learned they weren't too far from where I lived so we stopped by. The line was not as long as other people have experienced (two hours...no way Jose). I ordered the short rib and spicy pork tacos along with a short rib burrito. The bf ordered tofu and short rib tacos, sliders, and not sure what burrito he ordered. As soon as we got to my house and took a bite of it, it did not live up to our expectations. It's good don't get me wrong, but it's DEFINITELY not something to wait in line for. This actually proves my point when I say I don't usually enjoy food that's demed hyped. Hahaha
